We are looking for a talented individual to join our pre-revenue startup as Head of Marketing and Growth. The compensation for this role is equity-only at the outset, with a full salary and benefits package after a successful capital raise and achievement of our revenue goals. The Opportunity:

The Head of Marketing and Growth charts the course, develops the vision, and implements the plan that will propel the company towards increased market share and greater brand recognition. The ideal candidate will have experience working with corporate clients, be comfortable in a startup environment, and excited about the opportunity to build something new. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Marketing and Growth will be a contributing member of the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and growth strategy that increases the visibility and reach of our platform and drives user acquisition, retention, and engagement.
  • Plan and execute targeted campaigns across various channels, including email, social media, content marketing, SEO, SEM, and advertising.
  • Create and manage the company’s brand, messaging, and positioning to effectively communicate our value proposition to potential users and customers.
  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, such as diversity and inclusion advocates, external partners, industry organizations, and influencers.
  • Work closely with the product team to ensure that our platform meets the needs of our users and customers and incorporates user feedback into our marketing strategy.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure our platform remains innovative and competitive.
  • Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to ensure that marketing and growth initiatives align with the company’s overall product roadmap and business objectives.
  • Conduct market research and analyze user data to identify customer needs, market trends, and opportunities for growth.
  • Optimize the user journey and conversion funnels to improve conversion rates and reduce churn.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as user acquisition, engagement, and retention metrics, and adjust marketing strategies accordingly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, business, management, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: At least 7-10 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on growth marketing or user acquisition. Experience in a startup or fast-paced environment is preferred.
  • Strategic mindset: Ability to develop and execute strategic marketing plans that align with business objectives and drive growth. Diversity and inclusion expertise: Knowledge of best practices and strategies for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in marketing and advertising. Experience with marketing campaigns that target historically underrepresented groups is preferred.
  • SaaS experience: Understanding of the SaaS business model, including customer acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Analytical skills: Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting data to inform marketing decisions and measure the impact of marketing campaigns.
  • Team leadership: Experience managing and leading teams of marketers, designers, and other professionals. Ability to provide mentorship and support for team members.
  • Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop and present marketing strategies and reports to senior leadership and external stakeholders.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience working with technology startups.
  • Cross-functional experience (e.g., operations, finance, IT, HR, marketing, sales, business development, social media engagement)

The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record of building and leading successful networks or organizations, and experience in mentoring and advising senior executives. They will also have a deep understanding of the challenges faced by underrepresented groups in the corporate world, and a passion for increasing diversity and inclusion at the highest levels of leadership.

Compensation:

The compensation for this role is equity-only at the outset, with a full salary and benefits package after a successful capital raise and achievement of our revenue goals. The equity offered to the successful candidate will be tailored to their experience and contributions to the company.
